Biography

Lou Rosen a.k.a. Elly Rose is a musician and sound engineer based in Long Beach, CA. After performing as a member of the hornline at Vanguard Cadets and Santa Clara Vanguard, as well as a bass drummer at Elan Percussion, they have gone on to build a career in the education and design side of the marching arts activity. They currently serve as the Music Arranger and Front Ensemble Coordinator for Golden Empire Drum and Bugle Corps, and as the . Previously, they have worked as an audio engineer for Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps. At the high school level, they have composed and arranged both winds and percussion music for marching programs all around California, and work as the winds arranger, visual caption head, and as a percussion instructor at Cypress High School. 

In addition to working with schools and independent educational programs, Lou is the chief producer and coordinator for 4THBLOCK, a project based in Southern California which fuses marching percussion with diverse styles of electronic and contemporary music. They are a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, with a Bachelor’s of Music in Composition.
